Snake Trap Purchasing Information and Order Form

How To Buy a Snake Trap (DON'T)

WARNING: DO NOT BUY A GLUE-BASED SNAKE TRAP. THEY ARE INEFFECTIVE AND EXTREMELY INHUMANE TO BIRDS, RODENTS, & PETS.

I have a confession. I used to manufacture and sell snake traps. I sold them on this very website. I made good money off of it. But I had to stop. I could not in good conscience sell a product this bad. The product had three big problems:
1) INEFFECTIVE: Most of the time, the trap didn't catch the snake.
2) INHUMANE: The trap used a glue pad, which caught anything that stepped on it, and caused a horrible suffering death.
3) OVERPRICED: The snake trap was just a cheap plastic box with a glue pad inside, cost $2 to make.

I'm sorry I sold this product, and I'm ashamed. I really do wish there was a good snake trap that worked, that was humane, that was worth the money. But snakes aren't like rats or raccoons. They aren't lured in by bait. They only eat living food that they catch. So getting a snake in a trap is very hard. I highly recommend hiring a local professional to remove your snake. If you must buy a trap, first be aware it probably won't work, but PLEASE follow two rules: if you set the trap outside, buy a "minnow snake trap" (Google it) which is a cage trap that won't hurt birds, mammals, or pets. If you do buy a glue trap, ONLY SET IT INDOORS, for an indoor snake. That way, other animals won't get hurt. And do not buy a fancy $20 - $60 glue trap. You can just buy a $5 glue board, and it works just the same. But I hate glue boards, they are one of the most cruel inventions people have come up with.

If a snake is indoors, a trap will work. I do not recommend using a glue-based trap outdoors, because it can inhumanely catch other small critters. I have reviewed and field tested several snake trap designs, and the one featured below is the most durable and effective. It is the highest quality snake trap available on the market.

But remember, sometimes a snake you see is just a temporary thing. If you just wait, maybe it'll move on to a different area, and then you won't have to buy a trap at all.

Frequently Asked Questions: (with updated TRUTH)

1) How large of a snake can your trap catch?
Our trap can catch a snake up to 5 feet long and 2 inches in diameter. So no huge snakes, but 99% of snakes that people usually spot. (CORRECTED: Venomous snakes in the USA are pit vipers, like copperheads, cottonmouth, or rattlesnakes. They are very fat. This trap won't hold venomous snakes, and makes it too dangerous to handle them).

2) How do I know if I have caught a snake?
From a couple feet away, simply look into the side of the trap and visually check for a snake. If you've caught one, read question 11 below, what to do with it. (CORRECTED: One problem is that people don't check the trap every day, and forget about the trap, and over time the glue kills innocent animals).

3) Will this trap work for water snakes?
Yes, our trap will catch water snakes, though not while they are in the water. Set the trap on land, near the water. (CORRECTED: You can't set it in water, and setting near water very likely won't work).

4) How do I identify what kind of snake I saw?
Most online searches describing the appearance and markings of the snake will yield good results. (CORRECTED: When you do find out the species of snake you saw, 99% chance you'll discover it was harmless and good to have around!)

5 ) Is your trap money-back guaranteed?
No. Our trap has been used successfully for years in the field by wildlife professionals but all of our sales of Snake Traps are final. (CORRECTED: No, you won't get your $24.99 back for a trap that cost $2 to make).

6) Is your trap reusable?
Yes! Our trap can be used about 3-4 times. Simply rinse off the trap well with water between uses and remove any large pieces of debris by hand. (CORRECTED: No, it wasn't really reusable, because removing the debris was impossible).

7) How Do the Snake-Attract Dots work?
It's a rodent urine and gland oil scent that attracts snakes, who smell with their tongues. (CORRECTED: the scent was never proven to work. Most traps caught nothing).

8) Is your trap safe to use around pets and children?
Yes, it's a sticky pad in an enclosed box. Nothing sharp or snappy. Pets won't be able to access the sticky pad. Snakes have to crawl in. (CORRECTED: we got reports of poor pets getting their paws or snouts stuck on the glue, and badly hurt).

9) Do you take international orders?
Yes, but our $4.95 shipping rate does not apply to international shipments.

10) How quickly will my trap arrive?
Traps usually ship same day (Mon - Fri), and arrive in 2-3 business days via USPS Priority Mail from Seattle, WA.

11) What do I do with the snake after I catch it?
You can easily and safely relocate it - just drive a few miles from your home, put the snake trap on the ground, spray PAM or any cooking oil on the snake, which is stuck to the glue pad, back away, and the snake will work itself free and slither off within minutes. You can then rinse off and re-use the trap. If you absolutely must, you can kill the snake by decapitation or crushing, but I really hope you don't do this. Finally, the worst thing you could do would be to dispose of the snake in the trap without releasing or killing it, thus leaving it stuck, for a slow death of starvation. Please don't do that. (CORRECTED: Most snakes that were actually caught suffered injury or were never released)

CORRECTED: I'm truly sorry I once sold this bad product. Please don't buy any glue-pad-in-a-box snake traps. Hire a pro instead, or buy a cage minnow snake trap if you want to waste your time and money on a trap.
